Dr. Ihsan Alkhatib is an Associate Professor in the Political Science and Sociology department at Murray State University. He holds a PhD from Wayne State University, a JD from the University of Toledo, and multiple MA degrees from the University of Cincinnati, alongside a BA from the American University of Beirut. His expertise spans Business Law, International Law, Middle Eastern Politics, and Civil Rights. Dr. Alkhatib previously practiced family and immigration law in Detroit, focusing on Arab and Muslim American clients, and served as Law and Public Policy Director at Life for Relief and Development. He is licensed in Michigan and Ohio (inactive).
Teaching interests include Legal Research, Constitutional Law, and Business Ethics. Research focuses on American Islam’s legal challenges, community policing, and Middle Eastern governance. He advises the Pre-Law Student Association and Muslim Student Organization.
