Prof. Igor K. Lednev is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, State University of New York at Albany. He holds a PhD from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1983) and previously served as group leader at the Institute of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences. His international experience includes research positions in the UK, Japan, Canada, and Germany.
Dr. Lednev's research develops novel laser spectroscopy techniques for biochemical research, disease diagnostics, and forensic applications. Major discoveries include identifying new protein folding-aggregation phenomena, characterizing supramolecular chirality in amyloid fibrils, creating forensic methods for biological stain analysis, and developing diagnostic techniques for Alzheimer's disease.
He has served on the White House Subcommittee on Forensic Science and editorial boards of multiple scientific journals including Journal of Raman Spectroscopy and Forensic Chemistry. A Fellow and Governing Board member of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, he has authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications.
