About
Igor Cvejić serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade, where he chairs the Ethics Committee and previously served as editor-in-chief of Kritika: Časopis za filozofiju i teoriju društva. His academic foundation stems from a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Belgrade with the dissertation 'Kant's Theory of Feelings'.
Dr. Cvejić's research centers on philosophy of emotions, collective intentionality, and social engagement studies, with deep specialization in classical German philosophy (particularly Kant) and aesthetics. His work systematically examines how emotional experiences like vulnerability, trust, and empathy function as catalysts for social action under conditions of radical uncertainty, bridging Kantian ethical frameworks with contemporary social theory to analyze the phenomenological basis of collective engagement.
Analysis of his 2021-2023 publications reveals a cohesive trajectory exploring emotional dynamics in social contexts: recurring themes include contingency-driven social change, intersubjective vulnerability, and the role of 'being moved' in uncertain situations. His scholarship consistently integrates Kantian philosophy with empirical social concerns, emphasizing how emotional structures enable collective resilience and ethical engagement in volatile environments.
He actively contributes to the Institute's Group for social engagement studies, advancing interdisciplinary research on social solidarity through theoretical frameworks that connect emotion theory with practical social ontology. His leadership in the Ethics Committee further demonstrates his commitment to normative dimensions of social research.
