About
Ignacio Delso is a Lecturer in NMR Spectroscopy at the University of East Anglia's School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology. He holds a PhD and has extensive experience in spectroscopic and synthetic research, including roles as a Researcher and NMR Manager at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (2008–2020). His research focuses on NMR spectroscopy, eutectic systems, drug partitioning mechanisms, and glycosyltransferase inhibitors. He collaborates internationally and leads projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), such as the 'Spectroscopic and synthetic facilities for supramolecular and macromolecular systems' initiative.
His work spans analytical chemistry, materials science, and biochemistry, with recent publications on eutectic mixtures' thermophysical properties, enzyme inhibitor design, and soil phosphorus analysis. Delso actively participates in academic activities, including invited lectures at the Manuel Rico NMR Summer School (2022–2023) and visiting roles at the University of Zaragoza (2022). He is currently accepting PhD students and contributes to interdisciplinary research at the interface of chemistry and biology.
