Iepke Rijcken is a Researcher and Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, affiliated with the VISION collaborative project. She joined the division in June 2022, focusing on transnational labor migration and convivial Europe through ethnographic methods. Her work examines 'inner-peripheries' in Germany and Poland, analyzing lifeworlds through power relations and intersectionality frameworks.
Educated at the University of Utrecht, she holds a BSc in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and an MSc in Cultural Anthropology. Research interests include feminist theory, participatory research, and activism studies. Recent work explores reproductive rights activism in Warsaw through an ethnographic lens.
Publications include a 2022 article in LOVA Journal analyzing Strajk Kobiet activism. Methodologically, she employs visual and participatory approaches. Her VISION project collaboration with Berlin's DeZIM Institute and Amsterdam University aims at transformative knowledge for social justice.
