Idunn Victoria Rostøl is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas. Her research examines the Norwegian missionary periodical Maaltrosten (1903-1942), analyzing representations of Romani people in children's literature and their role in Norwegian nation-building.
Her interdisciplinary work spans:
- Historical constructions of childhood in Scandinavian mission literature
- Transnational philanthropic education models
- Metaphorical framing of assimilation policies
She holds an MA in European Culture from the University of Oslo and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2022) and previously worked at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History. Rostøl serves as editorial member for Arr idéhistorisk tidsskrift (2019-2023).
