Ichirou Ootsu

Ichirou Ootsu is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Media and Visual Arts within the Faculty of Arts at Osaka University of Arts Junior College. He concurrently serves as Director of the Screenwriters Association and maintains a continuous membership with the Scenario Writers Association since April 1965.

His academic focus spans art practice, screenwriting, and visual media studies, informed by his extensive professional background in film and television production. Since 1970, he has contributed to 69+ movies and TV productions, enriching his pedagogical approach with industry insights.

Since April 2011, he has taught the Sanuki Film Festival Screenplay Course, bridging theoretical and practical aspects of narrative development for visual media.
