Ibrahim Tolaymat

Ibrahim Tolaymat is a Senior Lecturer at the Medical Technology Research Centre within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University. His academic journey began with a Pharmacy degree from Damascus University (2002), followed by a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Hamburg (2009).

• PhD focus: Synthesis & characterization of heterocyclic compounds with analgesic/anti-inflammatory potential
• Teaching: BSc & MSc Pharmaceutical Science programs
• Research: Organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and drug repurposing

His recent publications center on bioorganic chemistry and pharmaceutical design, with a focus on inflammatory pathway inhibitors. He is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy and has contributed to collaborative research in drug discovery.

Ibrahim is actively involved in academic practice and brings experience from institutions in Syria, Germany, and the UK, including the University of Wolverhampton and the University of Kalamoon.
