Dr. Ibrahim Magara is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Coventry University’s Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations (CTPSR) and an Adjunct Lecturer at St. Paul’s University in Kenya. He holds a PhD in International Politics from Loughborough University (2023), an MA in Peace Studies from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2014), and a Philosophy degree from Pontifical Urbaniana University (2008). His research focuses on regional peace and security dynamics in Africa, particularly the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD)-led peace processes in South Sudan and the Horn of Africa. He has over a decade of field experience in peacebuilding, including roles with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and contributions to media outlets like CGTN. Magara’s work addresses topics such as non-liberal peace frameworks, proxy wars, and gender dimensions in regional security.
