Ian Villalta is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of San Diego. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from San Diego State University and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Arizona State University. Prior to joining USD, he worked at Arizona State University’s Clinical Psychology Center and Phoenix Children's Hospital.
- Clinical Focus: Anxiety and mood disorders, culturally-informed treatments for underserved populations.
- Research Interests: Ethnic health disparities, developmental psychopathology, comorbidity of anxiety/mood and substance use disorders.
- Teaching: Courses include Introductory Psychology (PSYC 101), Research Methods (PSYC 230), Behavior Disorders of Childhood (PSYC 354), and Abnormal Psychology (PSYC 355).
