Ian Rowen is a Visiting Associate Professor at Academia Sinica's Institute of Sociology and a PhD Candidate in Geography at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research focuses on the political geography of tourism, regional politics, and cross-strait relations between China and Taiwan. Funded by the US National Science Foundation and the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, his doctoral work examines tourism mobilities and their socio-political implications.
