Ian Price

Ian Price is a Lecturer in the Nursing and Paramedic Science Division at Queen Margaret University (QMU). He maintains a part-time clinical role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) at the Edinburgh Transplant Centre, where he cares for liver, renal, pancreas, and islet cell transplant patients. His academic background includes an Adult Nursing qualification from the University of Edinburgh (2006) and an MSc completed during his clinical tenure at the Edinburgh Transplant Centre.

Prior to his current role, he worked across acute care settings specializing in GI, Renal, and Transplant areas, and held advanced practice roles including a Hospital at Night position. He has extensive experience in higher education teaching, contributing to programs at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, and QMU as a Visiting/Associate Lecturer.

His research focuses on prescribing practices, advanced clinical roles, and clinical human factors. He holds a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy, reflecting his commitment to educational excellence.

Ian's primary academic responsibility is teaching on the NMC and HCPC-regulated Independent and Supplementary Prescribing for Healthcare Professionals programme.
