Ian Pope

Dr. Ian Pope is an Honorary Associate Professor at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, and practices as a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. As Co-Chief Investigator of the NIHR-funded Cessation of Smoking Trial in the Emergency Department (COSTED), he researches opportunistic behavior change interventions and smoking cessation in underserved populations.

His expertise encompasses public health approaches to tobacco control, with research focusing on emergency department interventions and e-cigarette-based cessation strategies. He holds a Master of Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and maintains active roles in the Royal College of Emergency Medicine's Public Health and Informatics committees.
