Ian Pagdin

Ian Pagdin is a Senior Lecturer in Banking, Risk Management, Investment and Wealth Management at Sheffield Hallam University's Business School. With 27 years of finance industry experience including 24 as an independent financial adviser, he brings practical expertise to teaching investment principles, risk management, and wealth strategies across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

As Course Leader for postgraduate finance programs, he oversees MSc degrees in Banking & Finance, Finance & Investment, and Wealth Management. His applied research focuses on portfolio optimization, client advisory frameworks, and financial risk mitigation strategies.

Professional engagements include serving as chief examiner for CISI's Applied Wealth Management certification and maintaining active links with financial regulatory bodies including the FCA and Chartered Insurance Institute.
