Ian Knowles

Ian Knowles is a Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). His research and teaching interests include differential equations, inverse problems, and number theory. He can be contacted via email at iknowles@uab.edu and is based in University Hall 4024, with office hours by appointment.

Dr. Knowles earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Flinders University. He was born in Sydney, Australia, and studied under Douglas Sears, a student of the renowned analyst E.C. Titchmarsh from Oxford University. Before joining UAB, he taught at universities in South Africa, the UK, and Canada.
