Ian James

Ian James is an artist and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Otis College of Art & Design, Art Center College of Design, and Pasadena City College. He holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts and a BA from Ohio State University.

James explores the intersection of photography, installation, and conceptual art. His work delves into themes like technology, spirituality, and materiality, often incorporating mixed media and experimental formats.

Recent projects include the artist book The 13:20 Movement (2021) and solo exhibitions at Five Car Garage (LA) and the Wassaic Project (NY). His practice blends physical materials with digital elements, as seen in works like KHLZ: The Rainbow Bridge (2020).
