Ian Hollenbaugh is an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis with joint appointments in Classics and Linguistics. He holds a PhD in Indo-European Linguistics from UCLA, where he also earned graduate certificates in Classics and Linguistics. His research focuses on tense/aspect systems in ancient languages, digital corpora of classical texts, and the Indo-European verb. Current projects include annotated digital editions of the Rigveda and Iliad.

- Comparative analysis of Homeric Greek and Vedic Sanskrit
- Diachronic development of verbal systems
- Morphosyntactic variation in early Indo-European
