Ian Hellebosch

Ian Hellebosch is a doctoral researcher and fellow at the Faculty of Sciences, Ghent University, working in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. His research focuses on urban climate modeling, heat stress projections, and climate change adaptation in African cities.

• Research Interests: Urban heat islands, micro-scale climate modeling, heat stress monitoring, climate resilience, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Projects: Investigating fine-scale climate projections of heat stress in fast-growing cities (2022-2026) through Ghent University's research initiatives funded by regional and community sources.
• Scientific Tools: Contributing to the development of MetObs, an open-source Python toolkit for processing non-traditional meteorological observations.
