Professor Ian Candy is a Professor in Geography at the Department of Geography, Royal Holloway, University of London, and a member of the Centre for Quaternary Research. His research focuses on Quaternary environmental change, climate variability, and human-environment interactions. He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and sustainable development.
Professor Candy has supervised 10 research students and led/co-led 7 major projects, including the AHOB3 project on early human dispersals and the GEOCUSECLA project on sedimentary analogs.
