Dr. Ian Bruce is a Professor and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in Electrical & Computer Engineering at McMaster University, with cross-appointments in Biomedical Engineering, Psychology/Neuroscience, and Computing/Software. He directs the Auditory Engineering Lab focusing on biomedical signal processing applications for hearing impairment. His research develops computational models of auditory physiology to improve hearing aids, cochlear implants, and tinnitus treatment.

- BEng in Electrical Engineering, University of Melbourne
Research Interests: Neural coding of speech, auditory modeling, digital speech processing, and physiological mechanisms of hearing loss. Current projects include 3D acoustical signal processing, cochlear implant stimulation modeling, and speech intelligibility prediction.
