Ian Barrow is a Professor of History at Middlebury College specializing in South Asian colonial history. He has held leadership roles including Chair of the History Department, Director of South Asian Studies, and Director of the Axinn Center for the Humanities. His research focuses on colonial mapping, the East India Company, and numismatics. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, M.A. from the University of Virginia, and B.A. from Wesleyan University.
