Ian Baird is Professor in the Department of Geography at University of Wisconsin–Madison with affiliations in Southeast Asian Studies and Environmental Institutes. He holds a PhD from University of British Columbia and MA from University of Victoria.
Research explores political ecology in mainland Southeast Asia, examining hydropower impacts on fisheries, land concessions, indigenous rights, and transboundary conflicts. His work involves extensive field research in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.
