Iain Wilson

Dr Iain Wilson is a part-time Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University, specializing in Psychology. He joined NTU in 2016 and teaches on the MSc/PGDip Psychology Conversion course and Occupational Psychology modules for BSc Psychology. His role includes leading support for APA/PGCert mentors, HEA fellowship applications, and learning/teaching development across the school.

Dr Wilson's research centers on reflective practice through the Synthesised Model of Reflection (SMoR), employability education pedagogy, and occupational health psychology. He also investigates social psychology dynamics (including the 'social cure' effect where group involvement improves wellbeing) and health benefits of natural outdoor environments.

He actively contributes to the Teaching and Learning Forum and serves as a Critical Friend for the National Teaching Repository. During 2022-23, he completed a part-time sabbatical developing reflective writing resources, demonstrating his commitment to scholarship in teaching practices.
