Iain Paton

Iain Paton is a Lecturer in Vocal Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with an extensive international performing career spanning opera and concert platforms. He has performed with renowned orchestras including Scottish Opera, Opera North, and Les Arts Florissants across Europe, Asia, and North America. His professional credits include roles in productions like Die Entführung, Cosi fan Tutte, and The Rakes Progress.

His research interests focus on operatic performance techniques and vocal pedagogy. He has taught at institutions including the Tokyo National Opera School and Dance School of Scotland's music theatre department.

Professor Paton has received the Erich Verteer Award from Glyndebourne and has recorded several works including Purcell's King Arthur and Dallapiccola's Ulisse.
