Iain Murray AM is Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Curtin University. He founded the Cisco Academy for the Vision Impaired (CAVI) and serves on boards for VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA.
Research interests include IoT-enabled assistive devices, indoor navigation for visually impaired individuals, and sensor networks for health monitoring. His work integrates inertial measurement units (IMUs) with machine learning for gait analysis and mobility solutions.
Honors include membership in the Order of Australia and IEEE Senior Membership. Current grants focus on real-time communication protocols for autonomous systems.
