Iain Kirkpatrick, MD, FRCP(C), is a Professor in the Department of Radiology at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He practices abdominal and cardiovascular radiology and serves as the Director of Computed Tomography, Radiography, and Interventional Radiology at St-Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Since 2015, he has been the University Section Head of Abdominal Radiology.
- Research Interests: CT/MRI of the bowel (including C. difficile colitis), mesenteric ischemia (multiphasic CT scanning), cardiac and renal CT/MRI, radiology informatics, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Clinical Contributions: Developed provincial programs for cardiac CT/MRI, prostate MRI, and CT colonography in Manitoba.
Dr. Kirkpatrick earned his MD and BSc (Medicine) from the University of Manitoba (1998), completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology there (2003), and pursued a fellowship in Abdominal Radiology at Stanford (2004). He served as an adjunct clinical instructor at Stanford until 2012.
