Dr. Hwajin Yang is Associate Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean (Research) at Singapore Management University, where she directs the ABC Lab investigating executive functions. She obtained her doctorate from Cornell University and undergraduate degree from Yonsei University. Her research program examines cognitive regulation through bilingual experience, technology interactions, and emotional development across the lifespan.
Key research areas include: 1) Bilingual cognitive advantages in childhood development, 2) Technology's impact on socioemotional functioning, and 3) Emotion regulation mechanisms in aging populations. Current projects employ latent profile analysis (2024), structural equation modeling (2023), and daily diary methods (2024).
