Hunter Bachman

Hunter Bachman is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). He is affiliated with the William States Lee College of Engineering, where he focuses on acoustofluidics, microfluidics, and biomedical device development. His Honors Faculty status (ending June 2030) recognizes his contributions to academic excellence.

Research Interests: Dr. Bachman’s work integrates acoustics with fluid dynamics to engineer innovative solutions in nano/microscale particle manipulation, biomimetic devices, and point-of-care diagnostics. His lab develops acoustic tweezers, 3D-printed biomimetic eyes, and microfluidic platforms for biomedical applications. Recent trends in his publications emphasize acoustofluidic centrifuges, cell-phone-based diagnostics, and biomimetic optical systems.
