Hung-Gay Fung is the Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Finance and Legal Studies and holds the Dr. Y.S. Tsiang Professorship of Chinese Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He previously served as Department Chair for five years and has held academic positions at the University of Baltimore (1992–1998) and other institutions. His research focuses on China’s financial markets, international finance, and offshore debt strategies. He edits journals like Chinese Economy and International Review of Accounting, Banking and Finance, and has authored 9 books on Chinese economic topics.
Education: PhD in Finance (Georgia State University, 1984) and BBA in Finance (Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1978).
Teaches FINANCE 6580/6590: International Financial Management.
Research interests include cross-border financial strategies, Chinese economic policy, and resilience in global business leadership. His recent work examines behavioral finance (e.g., narcissistic leadership impact) and decision-making frameworks rooted in cultural studies.
