Hum Hermansyah is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the Center for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC). His research focuses on the role of manuscripts in propagating holy war within Acehnese society, intersecting Islamic Studies, Southeast Asian history, and cultural heritage preservation. He holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree and is currently based at the University of Hamburg.
Research Interests: Manuscript analysis, religious propaganda in historical contexts, and the socio-political dimensions of Acehnese cultural heritage. His work contributes to understanding how written materials shaped ideological传播 in premodern Southeast Asia.
Projects: Leading the dissertation project Manuscripts Propagating Holy War in Acehnese Society, exploring the use of manuscripts as tools for religious and political mobilization in Aceh.
