Huiqiao Yao

Huiqiao Yao is an ASIANetwork and Luce Foundation Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at Trinity University, specializing in East Asian Religions. She earned her Ph.D. in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona in 2023. Her interdisciplinary training and faculty mentorship prepared her for her current role and future aspirations.

Research Interests: Huiqiao Yao's work focuses on the intersection of religion, philosophy, and cultural history in late imperial China. Her dissertation, "Popularizing the Sage: Wang Yangming and Vernacular Confucian Hagiographies in Late Imperial China," explores how Confucian thought was disseminated through vernacular literature, emphasizing the socio-cultural dynamics of intellectual transmission.
