Dr. Hui-Wen Lo is the Department Head of Cell Biology and Genetics and Jean and Tom McMullin Endowed Professor at Texas A&M University's College of Medicine. She holds dual appointments at Texas A&M Health Science Center and the Institute of Biosciences and Technology. With over 30 years of cancer research experience, her work focuses on breast cancer brain metastasis, glioblastoma, and drug development. She leads the Metastatic Brain Tumor Research Program and has secured over $20M in NIH/DoD grants. Dr. Lo has held leadership roles including Vice Chair for Research at McGovern Medical School and executive positions at Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center.

- MS in Biomedical Sciences from UTHealth Houston
Her lab investigates EGFR/HER2 signaling pathways, exosome-mediated metastasis mechanisms, and tumor suppressor TUSC2. Current projects include developing tGLI1 inhibitors and studying astrocyte interactions in brain metastasis.
Trained over 50 scientists, including funded postdocs and physician scientists. Active in recruiting faculty and researchers to Texas A&M's Cell Biology & Genetics department ranked #5 in NIH funding.
