Prof. Dr. Hugues Marchal is an Associate Professor at the University of Basel's Department of Linguistics and Literature within the Faculty of Humanities. A graduate of École normale supérieure de Fontenay-Saint-Cloud, he has held academic positions at Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, and Université de la Sorbonne nouvelle-Paris 3 before joining Basel in 2011.
