Hugo Soudeyns

Hugo Soudeyns is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal, and a senior researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center. He holds cross-appointments in both the Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology and the Department of Pediatrics.

Research Focus: His work investigates viral pathogenesis and immune responses in maternal-fetal medicine, with specific expertise in HIV-1 and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) transmission. He examines:

• Antiviral immunity reconstitution after hematopoietic stem cell/cord blood transplantation
• Impact of antiretroviral therapy on immune development
• Viral reservoir dynamics in pediatric HIV infection
• Novel immunotherapeutic approaches for viral control
