Hugo Lam

Professor Hugo Lam is a faculty member at the University of Liverpool Management School, specializing in Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. He holds a PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and has prior industry experience as a Lead Engineer. His research focuses on emerging technologies' operational impacts and sustainable supply chains. He currently serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management and Associate Editor of the Journal of Operations Management.

Education: PhD and MSc in Operations Management (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), BEng in Electronic and Communications Engineering (University of Hong Kong).

Research interests include blockchain, AI, and social media in operations, alongside environmental and social responsibility in global supply chains. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Leverhulme Research Fellowship and the Jack Meredith Best Paper Award. He supervises PhD students on topics like social media in workplaces and suppliers' environmental violations.

Grants include funding from the British Academy and N8 AgriFood. He leads editorial roles and organizes special issues on topics like sustainable logistics and extreme weather resilience.
