Hugo Giambini

Hugo Giambini, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design, University of Texas at San Antonio. His research focuses on understanding pathological tissue changes due to musculoskeletal disorders and developing clinical tools for diagnosis and intervention.

The Musculoskeletal & Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory (MOBL), founded in 2018, employs biomechanics and medical imaging technologies to study hard and soft tissue mechanics, aiming to improve predictive models and treatment outcomes for musculoskeletal conditions.

His laboratory collaborates with professionals from UT Health's Departments of Orthopedics and Radiology, as well as basic scientists within Biomedical Engineering, providing interdisciplinary training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
