Hugh Hewitt

Professor Hugh Hewitt is a full-time, tenured faculty member at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law since its founding in 1995. He specializes in Constitutional Law and serves as faculty advisor to the Nexus Journal of Law & Public Policy. Hewitt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard College (magna cum laude) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School (Order of the Coif), where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.

His research and professional work focus on constitutional expertise, political commentary, and law-and-policy intersections. He also writes daily for HughHewitt.com, a prominent political and law blog, and contributes weekly to The Washington Examiner and Townhall.com.

Additional roles include serving in the Reagan Administration (Assistant Counsel in the White House, Special Assistant to the Attorney General), overseeing construction of the Nixon Library, and board memberships on the California Arts Council, South Coast Air Quality Management District, and Orange County Children and Families Commission.
