Hugh Gong is a Professor in the Department of Textiles at the University of Manchester. He holds visiting professorships at Shinshu University, Suzhou University, Zhongyuan University of Technology, and Jiangnan University. His research focuses on fibrous structures, material recycling, and textile composites. He has supervised over 40 PhD students and serves on editorial boards of journals like Cogent Engineering.
Education: BSc from Dong Hua University (1984), PhD from University of Manchester (1989). Professional roles include Director of Postgraduate Studies and Chair of Postgraduate Degrees Panel in the Faculty of EPS.
