Hubert H. Lim

Hubert H. Lim is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He holds the Endowed Lions Professorship in Otolaryngology and the Bakken Professorship for Engineering in Medicine, serves as Director of the Earl E. Bakken Medical Device Center, and Co-Director of the Center for Neuroengineering.

His research pioneers neural interfaces and medical technologies targeting hearing loss, tinnitus, pain, and inflammatory disorders through the SONIC Lab (Sensory Optimization and Neural Implant Coding). The lab employs electrical stimulation, ultrasound imaging/stimulation, EEG, and invasive neural recordings in animal and human studies to accelerate translation from scientific concept to clinical application via structured proof-of-concept experiments and pilot human trials.
