Hubert Chudzio serves as Associate Professor in the Department of 19th Century History and Director of the Documentation Centre for Exile, Expulsions and Resettlements. His academic work centers on Polish historical narratives and diaspora studies within European contexts.
His research spans Polish History, Migration Studies, and European History with specific focus on the November Uprising (1830-1831), the Great Emigration, and the Duchy of Warsaw (1807-1815). He investigates forced migrations of Poles across the 19th-20th centuries, Polish communities in the Middle East, Siberian resettlement survivors, and Polish World War II cemeteries in Africa. His methodology incorporates film documentation to preserve historical memory and cultural heritage.
As Director of the Documentation Centre, he leads archival efforts documenting exile, expulsions, and resettlement patterns of Polish populations, with particular attention to diaspora communities and material traces of displacement.
