Hua Wang

Hua Wang is a Lecturer in Political & International Studies at the University of Glasgow's School of Social and Political Sciences. He holds a PhD in Politics from Glasgow (2017), an MSc in Public Policy from Nankai University (China), and a BA in Public Policy from Nankai University. His research focuses on business lobbying, state-society relations, and policy processes in authoritarian systems, with current work emphasizing eldercare policy implementation and central-local dynamics in China.

Research activities include analyses of strategic policy responsiveness during the pandemic (2025), institutional lobbying mechanisms in authoritarian contexts (2024), and citizen participation in Chinese policy processes (2013). Teaching responsibilities span qualitative methods, Chinese politics, and introductory modules in politics and international relations at undergraduate levels.
