Howard M. Prentice, Ph.D., is a Professor of Biomedical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University. Research Interests:
His principal research focuses on tissue hypoxia and ischemia, molecular pathways of neuroprotection in stroke therapy, and gene therapy strategies for retinal diseases. He explores ER stress pathways, hypoxia-regulated gene therapy, and pharmacological preconditioning for myocardial and cerebral ischemia.
His translational work has led to patent awards and includes investigations into anti-apoptotic mechanisms and preconditioning pathways for neuroprotection.
