Howard Hu

Dr. Howard Hu is a Professor of Hospitality Management at Southern Utah University's School of Business. His career evolved from working in his family-owned restaurant to academia, where he focuses on global hospitality skills. He teaches foundational courses like International Cuisine, Beverage Management, and Restaurant Management, while emphasizing practical certifications (ServSafe Food Protection, Security Management) for students.

His research interests include hospitality industry practices, tourism, and cross-cultural culinary education. Dr. Hu organizes the annual Iron Chef Cooking Exam to challenge students' adaptability and creativity in food production.
