Hongning Wang

Hongning Wang is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia, where he has been since 2014 after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

His research focuses on Machine Learning, Text Mining, Information Retrieval, Computational Statistics, Simulation, Statistical Modeling, and Stochastic Modeling. Wang applies computational and statistical methods to model complex systems, with recent work in healthcare AI, such as developing a high-tech 'ear' for monitoring emotions in Alzheimer's caregivers to protect mental health.
