Honghui Zhou

Honghui Zhou is a Senior Research Scientist at the Central Research Facilities, Materials Research Laboratory, University of Illinois, Urbana, IL (2020–present), with prior roles as Research Scientist (2012–2020) and Guest Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Surface Science and Corrosion Engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing.

• Materials Science: Superconductivity, oxide thin films, and defect engineering
• Condensed Matter Physics: Epitaxial heterostructures and phase transitions
• Nanotechnology: Advanced thin film synthesis and characterization
