Hong Qin is a Full Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University, where he is also a member of the Center for Visual Computing. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Peking University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on computer graphics, geometric modeling, physics-based simulation, and scientific visualization.
Education: B.S. (1986) and M.S. (1989) in Computer Science from Peking University; Ph.D. (1995) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
Research interests include geometric modeling, computer-aided design, scientific visualization, medical imaging, and robotics.
