Hon Chim Chiu

Dr Hon Chim Chiu is an Associate Lecturer in Physical and Environmental Geography at the University of St Andrews' School of Geography and Sustainable Development. He previously taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and the University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on coastal geomorphology, natural hazards, sedimentology, and Quaternary environmental systems. He served as President of the Geological Society of Hong Kong (2022–2024).

Research interests include coastal geomorphic changes, sedimentary archives of past storms, and urban coastal planning in the Scottish context. His work also addresses historical mapping, environmental policy, and tree farm management.
