Holly Mathews

Holly Mathews is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2019. Previously, she held adjunct positions at Santa Clara University (2018–19) and Academy of Art University (2012–19), where she taught painting and foundations. She earned an M.F.A. in Fine Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and a B.F.A. from the Academy of Art University.

Her research and creative work focus on painting, contemporary art practices, and art education. Notable exhibitions include 'Wish You Were Here' (2020) and '21 Under 31: Artists to Watch' (2013), highlighting her contributions to the art community. Her work has been featured in BOOOOOOOM Art and Design Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine.

Mathews has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts MFA Merit Award (2015–17) and Academy of Art University Spring Show awards (2011–2012). Her career reflects a dedication to both artistic innovation and pedagogy in the visual arts.
