Holger Dressel

Holger Dressel is the Head of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Zurich, joining in January 2014. He holds a Dr. med. from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (1999) and an MPH from the University of Ulm (2003), with a Privatdozent title from LMU (2013).

• Research Focus: Respiratory and allergological aspects of occupational/environmental medicine, non-invasive respiratory diagnostics, planetary health, and innovative medical education.
• Ongoing Projects: Indoor air humidification for symptom prevention in workplaces/schools; validation of activity monitors for posture/motion in white-collar jobs.
• Closed Projects: Mercury biomonitoring in contaminated Swiss regions; workplace fever etiology studies.

Publications span respiratory diagnostics (2022), asbestos epidemiology (2021), post-transplant work ability (2020), and mercury exposure analysis (2014). His work bridges clinical practice, environmental policy, and technological validation in occupational health.
