Hisham Said is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering at Santa Clara University (SCU), where he also founded and coordinates the Construction Management program. His academic journey began at Cairo University (B.Sc. 2003, M.Sc. 2006) before earning his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2010. He previously held a postdoctoral position at Purdue University in the Division of Construction Engineering and Management.
Research Interests: Dr. Said specializes in industrialized construction, generative design, spatial scheduling, and construction labor relations. His work bridges smart building technologies, offsite construction, and sustainability frameworks, with a focus on data-driven optimization of construction processes.
Key Publications: Recent articles analyze hybrid modularization, CLT construction networks, and agility frameworks for modular construction. His research employs graph theory, spatial modeling, and machine learning to solve construction logistics and design change challenges.
